Humane Society of Charlotte to Host One-Day Vaccination Clinic on June 2

	CHARLOTTE, N.C.) - In an effort to promote healthy pet ownership in the Carolinas, the Humane Society of Charlotte will host a low-cost shot clinic. From 8 until 10 a.m. on that Saturday, shots will be administered to pets for the following: canine distemper/parvo (DHLPP) - $10, feline distemper (FVRCP) - $8 and rabies - $5. Only those vaccinations will be available that day and cash is the only method of payment that will be accepted. Pet owners wishing to bring their animals to the shot clinic do not need to be residents of Charlotte/Mecklenburg County to participate; it is open to everyone. The event will be held rain or shine in the parking lot of the Humane Society of Charlotte Spay/Neuter Clinic at 2646 Toomey Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28203. It is located near the intersection of I-77 and Remount Road.

Santa to a Senior

	• All Mecklenburg County Walgreens locations have “Be a Santa to a Senior” holiday trees – Some examples are: Mallard Creek Rd. & Mallard Church, Albemarle Rd. & Harris Blvd., Monroe Rd. & Sardis Rd., Birkdale Commons Pkwy. & Sam Furr Rd. • Trees contain ornaments with wish lists of basic necessities for area seniors in need. Shoppers can pick out an ornament, buy the items on the list, and leave them unwrapped at the store with the ornament attached. Volunteers will come by and pick up the gifts. • After all the gifts are picked up from Walgreens, we will hold a citywide gift-wrapping day and wrap hundreds of presents on December 13 at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Senior Center on 2225 Tyvola Road from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. • Gifts will be delivered to seniors through December 16. • If you are interested in volunteering to collect, wrap or deliver gifts, please contact Home Instead at (704) 344-0801.
